Through the season we run in-house and interclub competitions. Participation is entirely optional, but members usually find that it greatly helps to improve their technical and compositional skills. For most competitions entries are reviewed by an independent judge who decides the winner, second and third places; and awards a number of “Highly Commended” and “Commended”.
Winning entries at recent competitions can be seen in the Galleries section.
We encourage members to enter national competitions. We also use members’ images to enter as a Society in national club and interclub competitions.
The Society also organises a prestigious annual open photographic competitive exhibition which attracts many thousands of high class images from across the country. Further details can be found under 2016 Open Exhibition.
