Who are we?

Solihull Photographic Society

Our long-established Society welcomes members with an interest in photography whatever their level of experience. We cover most types of still photography including digital, prints and audiovisual work. Our activities include talks from well known photographers and we also provide help to those who wish to improve their photographic skills. Club members regularly get together for meetings, trips out, social events and practical sessions.

With over 50 members and typical attendance of 30 to 35 at weekly meetings, there are plenty of opportunities to meet like-minded people and to gain from their knowledge and experience.

Weekly Meetings Programme

We have weekly meetings, every Tuesday from September until May, with a varied and interesting programme of speakers and club competitions. Meetings start at 7.30 pm in the Solihull Women’s Institute, Warwick Road, Solihull, B91 3DG. There is a small charge at the door.

Technical Support

We aim to provide technical help and support to members through various means. We have regular informal technical workshops on the last Monday of most months. The programme is flexible and provides practical information on a range of photographic techniques. A nominal charge is made to cover costs. We also have equipment available for loan, such as screen calibration tools.

Visitors and New Members

Visitors and new members are always welcome. Visitors can attend as often as they like, but are asked to pay a slightly nigher door fee. Visitors cannot enter competitions.

We have recently introduced the new category of “Country Membership” for people who live more than 50 miles from Solihull and would not normally be able to attend meetings.
