The Solihull Salon of Photography 2022

The Aim.

The aim of The Salon is to showcase about one hundred Visual Art prints that have been produced by photographers from the UK.
The selected prints will be exhibited for public viewing in the Courtyard Gallery in Solihull Library (The Core) B91 3RG.
The Salon is independent and will not be aligned to exhibition bodies.
The three Selectors will be Fellows of The Royal Photographic Society and each will award a Selector’s Certificate in each category. There will also be a “Best Print” Certificate for each category.

General Conditions of Entry

The Salon is a Print only event.
There are two Visual Art categories: Colour and Mono.
All entries must be initiated via the online entry system – see below.  PLEASE DO NOT change the format of the Entry Form in any way.  Please download the entry form, add all your details and save it using this filename style – ’SURNAME-Solihull Salon’. Do not make any other changes! Email this saved version together with your digital files to the address on the form. Don’t forget to print a copy of the form to include with your prints.
A DVD will be sent to every Entrant showing the selected images. If entrants want their selected images to be included on this, as well as on The Salon web catalogue, they must send a digital copy of each of their prints. Please send as attachments with your Entry Form.
The digital copies should be in jpeg format with maximum dimensions being 1600 pixels horizontal and 1200 pixels vertical, sRGB colour space and file size less that 2MB. Please name your dpis as follows, SURNAME#TITLE#C or M (accordingly).
Copyright of all images is retained by the Entrant, but the organisers reserve the right to reproduce all images.
The organisers will take all reasonable care but do not accept any liability for loss or damage to work submitted. PLEASE NOTE that it may be that small pins will have to be used to hold the mounts in position.
Prints must be submitted in “nomad-style” packaging if the Entrant wants them returned. Failure to do this, or failure to include postage costs, will result in the prints being destroyed after the Salon.
A printed copy of the completed Entry Form must be included in the box of prints and your cheque if appropriate.
Print mounts must be 16” x 20” (40cm x 50cm). On the back of the print please indicate in the top left hand corner the correct orientation for the print to be viewed. The Title, the Entrant’s Name and Address should also be shown on the back of the mount.
The Salon will be open for entries on the 1st November 2021 and closed on the 12th December. Selections will be made on the 29th January 2022 and the Salon will be open to the public from the 23rd February to the 6th March 2022.

The entry fee is £2 per print and £4 postage, payable by BACS or cheque.
