We thank the organisers for a smooth and efficient weekend, for their hospitality and keeping us supplied with excellent quality food and drink.
The best work, as always, was very good. The standard of the nature DPIs was very high, as was the sport. Landscapes tended to be weak and post-processing, especially on composites and re-enactment photographs was sometimes disappointing, displaying poor tonal range and blocked-up shadows.
The judges were broadly in agreement when it came to choosing the awards and we tried to include a variety of genres in the awarded work. Congratulations to the award-winners whose work really stood out.
